Remind by email at the milestones before your reply deadline, switch channels for those who never opened, and call the last silent ones: each message is short, repeats the date and gives the link again. On Invitez-nous, email reminders go out on their own at 45, 20 and 10 days before the deadline, to guests without a reply who have an email address and received their invitation through the platform, by email or by SMS.
First, know who to remind
Two silences are not the same. A guest who never opened their link may not even know they are invited: the message got lost, the address is wrong, the number has changed. A guest who opened without replying knows, and is waiting for something: holiday dates, a partner's answer, childcare.
With a personal link per guest, your list tells the two apart for you. The first one gets reminded through another channel; the second one with a reminder of the deadline.
The reminder schedule
| When | Who | How |
|---|---|---|
| At 45, 20 and 10 days before the deadline | Guests without a reply who have an email address | Automatic email reminders |
| Between two reminders | Those who never opened | Another channel: SMS from the Essentiel plan, or WhatsApp, with the link |
| After the last reminder | The last silent ones | A phone call |
The rhythm of automatic reminders can be set: at milestones before the deadline, every week or every month. The "Remind" button also sends, whenever you choose, an immediate reminder to the same guests; a safeguard prevents two from going out less than twenty hours apart. A guest invited only by WhatsApp from your phone is not reminded by the platform: it is up to you to write to them.
Three messages to copy
By email: "Hello Claire, we are working on the seating plan and your reply is missing. You can give it in two clicks before 15 May, on your invitation: [link]. Thank you, and see you soon!"
By SMS: "Hi Paul, a quick reminder about our wedding: your reply helps us with the caterer. Before 15 May, here: [link]."
By WhatsApp: "Hi Inès! Are you coming with Hugo? We close replies on 15 May, it takes twenty seconds: [link]"
Each message fits in three sentences, gives the personal link again and names the deadline. It blames no one and does not count the days of delay.
What offends
- The group message that lists latecomers, or writes to all of them at once.
- A reminder after the deadline with no new date: the guest can no longer reply, and the message has no purpose.
- One more written message, through the same channel. A guest who stayed silent after the automatic reminders is waiting for a call, not another email.
After the deadline
The form closes for everyone, you included, and your guests are pointed back to you. You stay in control: push the date back in one click from the editor, and the form reopens. If the guest answers you on the phone, push the date back first, then open their personal link from your list and record their reply with them: it is filed in their row like the others, and reminders stop for them.
Reminders can be switched off for the whole invitation, and each guest can unsubscribe themselves through the link in each of our messages. All of this is handled from guest management. To go further: the sending timeline, month by month, then create your wedding invitation.
