Wedding gift funds: the 2026 fee comparison (and how to pay 0%)

La rédaction Invitez-nous · 1 July 2026 · 4 min read · updated on 3 October 2026

You've gone for a gift fund rather than a wedding list: good call. That leaves one question few couples ask themselves before the first transfer lands: how much is the platform taking on the way through? The answer ranges from modest to six times that.

Fees compared, checked on 3 October 2026

On an average wedding gift fund of €3,000, made up of around fifty contributions:

Platform Published fees What you actually keep
A widely used platform 6% from €100 to €10,000, 1.5% above €2,820 · you lose €180
A second platform 3% + €1 per contribution ≈ €2,860 · you lose ≈ €140
A third platform 1% + €0.25 per contribution (euro area) ≈ €2,958 · you lose ≈ €42
Invitez-nous 0% commission €3,000 · every penny

Two things about the first one that work in its favour, and that it would be dishonest to leave out: setting up the fund and contributing to it are free, and the commission only applies when you withdraw to a bank account · spending the fund with its partners avoids it. On the other hand, a fund left dormant starts attracting account-keeping fees from the eleventh month. Public fee schedules checked on 3 October 2026; the platforms are not named, only their fees are.

The other two platforms' fees include a fixed part per contribution: the right-hand column therefore assumes fifty contributions, the order of magnitude of a wedding gift fund. With twice as many guests, the fixed part doubles.

The percentages look small · set against a honeymoon budget, they add up to a night in a hotel, two proper dinners, or the excursion you weren't sure you could justify.

How can some platforms offer 0%?

The secret is in the plumbing. Traditional gift funds hold your money in a ring-fenced account and then pay it over to you: that intermediary role is expensive (compliance, deposit protection) and the bill arrives as commission. The other approach, the Invitez-nous one: the money never passes through the platform. Your guests pay you on your own direct links (Wero, Lydia, PayPal, bank transfer), and the funds go from their account to yours. No holding, no commission. For room bookings, a host who has connected their Stripe account can also take card payments: the money goes to their Stripe account, only Stripe's banking fees apply, and we take nothing.

The questions to ask before you choose

Is the gift fund built into the invitation? A separate gift fund (an external gift fund link pasted into an email) converts far less well than one presented as a natural continuation of your wedding invitation, with your story and your photos. Do your guests have to create an account? Every extra step costs you contributions · contributing should take two taps, with no sign-up, using the payment method your guest already has on their phone. Can you see contributions in real time? Live tracking on a dashboard saves you from nasty surprises.

In short

From a gift fund of €820 upwards, a complete digital wedding invitation with a 0% gift fund costs you less than "free" plus a 6% commission.
